Micheal Vick’s return to the NFL is a lot different then Farve’s return.  Vick is returning to the NFL after being convicted of animal cruelty and running a dog fighting organization.   Vick’s return is controversial, many people have not forgiven Vick for what he did and that is understandable.  However, people need to remember that everyone deserves a second chance.  Vick has shown remorse, even if it is after the fact, and he deserves the opportunity to make amends for his past actions.  The organisations that look out for the human treatment of animals should be hesitant to welcome him with open arms yet they should still allow him the opportunity to help bring awareness and hopefully and end to animal cruelty and dog fighting.  Vick has been conditionally reinstated into the NFL and he should be given the chance to let others learn from his mistake.  The Eagles have given Vick a chance at correcting his mistake and the public should allow him to try.  Vick is an example of what happens when you allow people who don’t have your best interest in mind influence your behavior.  People need to learn that even if you are related to a person if they are not people of good character you should not be hang around them and you should not allow them to influence your decisions.    As long as Vick is sincere and campaigns against animal cruelty the public should back him, as long as he doesn’t break the law again.  Professionally Vick is a pro athlete, he must be allowed to earn a play again and earn a living doing what he has trained to do.   He must pay back his debts, which he will only be able to do if he plays pro football, and he must continue to do charitable work long after he has retired from the NFL.  Only if Vick is sincre and continues to campaing against animal cruelty can he be forgiven for his past indiscretions.  I pray for his sake that people give him a chance to make amends and that he follows through with what he say he is going to do.

The future is always uncertain but I am positive and optomistic that the return of both Brett Farve and Micheal Vick will be benifitial to the fans, the teams, the NFL and the general public.

The tablet PC market has had limited success since its launch in 2002.  Many PC manufactures have abandoned the tablet due to their limited market success.  Yet the tablet PC may see a renaissance due in large part to Microsoft’s great rival Apple.  Apple has had great market success in areas in which Microsoft based products have struggled.  The iPod dominates the MP3 player market, the iTouch is a leader in mobile video players and iPhone has rejuvenated the PDA market.  Now Apple is poised to take on the struggling tablet market.  The tablet PC has strived to find its place in the laptop market.  Price and hardware specifications have been the main obstacle for the tablet.  They simply cost too much for what’s under the hood, the specs of an entry level tablet PC considerably cost more then a similarly equipped traditional laptop. With Apple set to announce the launch of the Apple Tablet, hopefully in September, at a sub $1000 price, there is a glimmer of hope that PC manufactures will respond with less expensive tablets.

Why buy a Tablet PC?

There are many choices in the Laptop market.  There are inexpensive and small netbooks, low powered and low cost laptops, mid range laptops, business class, and gaming laptops.  Yet, a largely overlooked segment of the laptop market has been the tablet PC (Slate and Ultra Mobile PC are also classified under the term tablet).  Tablet PC’s have been manly market towards businesses, particularly the medical and insurance fields.  However, tablets can reach more of the market.  With technology progressing, smaller more powerful computer components are being manufactured that consume less energy.  With these new components and a better operating system in Windows 7 (over Vista) the tablet PC will be able to make a comeback.

The tablet is an excellent choice for college students, home use and computing on the go.  Some classes require the student to write down things that can only be handwritten, which meant you had to have two sets of notes computer and hand written or you only had handwritten notes.  However, with a tablet you would have a unified set of notes on your computer.  The tablet is also an excellent choice for home mobile computing.  The tablet is exceptional for computing on the couch in front of the TV.  Most people including myself use a table while using my laptop on the couch.  But slates enable the user to make inputs with their fingers or a stylus which makes computing on the couch much easier.  Ultra mobile PC (in a slate form factor) along with slates, makes computing on the go easier than the smallest netbook. By eliminating the keyboard, the UMPC and slate, are extremely mobile and have the benefit of being a full computer.  This enables individuals to have full computing power while away from home or the office, since a UMPC can more easily be used while in a waiting room or while standing.

Future of Tablets

The future for the tablet market is bright.  With lower prices and better configurations the tablet segment will be able to take a greater share of the laptop market, particularly those which are currently filled by netbooks and low-end laptops. Apple’s entry into the tablet market should not be mock by windows user but rather they should be thankful.  Apple’s past success should help in creating renewed interest in the tablet PC market.  The tablet has the potential to have a significant segment of the laptop market, let’s hope that manufactures and consumers finally see the benefits of owning a tablet.

Now the Miami Dolphins are in a precarious position.  After the disastrous 2007 1-15 season, the Fins were able to rebuild and restructure their 2008 team.  They went on to win the AFC East with an 11-5 season, including big wins against New England and New York.  Yet, they played horribly in the playoffs, losing to the Ravens and looking nothing the team they were during the regular season.     Some good news is that the team was able to get back Jason Taylor, one of my favorite players, in the off season.  The team has acquire new ownership, which hopefully will be committed to wining.  The 2009 season is a crucial year for the organization.  Can they continue as a playoff team or will they return to being a mediocre team.    Hopefully, the team will be able to go deep into the playoffs and finally do what they could never do with my all-time favorite player Dan Marino, win a Super Bowl.
